About The Position

The Engineering Aide I maintains Hospital for Special Surgery’s facilities and physical plant to support safety and create positive first impressions for patients, customers, and staff. The role performs general cleaning, repairs, and renovations, including work with power tools and electrical tasks. It also involves maintaining daily logs and work orders, reading blueprints or models, and planning layouts for new construction. This is a regular, full-time position on the night shift, scheduled from 12 a.m. to 8 a.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least three years of experience as a general mechanic or handyman.
• One year of trade school experience.
• Solid background in building trades, including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex problems.
• Working knowledge of plant maintenance methods and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of general cleaning tasks.
