About The Position

Genesis10 is seeking an Engineer for a hybrid position with a Major Financial Institution in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12-month contract opportunity. The role supports a Data Center Exit program, providing engineering capacity for Storage and Compute/Virtualization workstreams. The position requires close coordination with application, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure business continuity and minimize operational risk. Most migration activities will occur during evenings and weekends.

Requirements

5-7 years of experience in IT infrastructure
Technical background in storage, compute, and virtualization
Experience with data center migrations or similar large-scale infrastructure projects
Ability to analyze technical issues and develop effective solutions
Strong problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

Support a large-scale data center exit program
Perform storage migrations, server and virtual machine migrations
Participate in environment build activities, testing, and cutover execution
Conduct post-migration validation and decommissioning activities
Coordinate with application, infrastructure, and business teams
Perform migration activities during evenings and weekends to avoid disruption to production services
