About The Position

Genesis10 is seeking an Engineer for a hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12-month contract opportunity. The role is part of a critical Data Center Exit program, providing additional engineering capacity to support the Storage and Compute/Virtualization workstreams. The successful candidate will be involved in storage migrations, server and virtual machine migrations, environment builds, testing, and decommissioning activities, requiring close coordination with application, infrastructure, and business teams.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of experience in a relevant technical field such as systems engineering or infrastructure support
• Experience with data center migrations, including storage, server, and virtual machine migrations
• Proven ability to analyze technical issues and develop effective solutions
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including application, infrastructure, and business stakeholders
• Willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends to support migration activities

Responsibilities

• Support the Storage and Compute/Virtualization workstreams for a Data Center Exit program
• Perform storage, server, and virtual machine migrations
• Execute environment build activities, testing, and cutover plans
• Conduct post-migration validation and decommissioning activities
• Coordinate with application, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure business continuity while minimizing operational risk
• Perform migration activities during evenings and weekends to avoid disruption to production services
