About The Position

Genesis10 is seeking an Engineer for a Hybrid position with a Major Financial Institution in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12-month contract opportunity. The role is part of a large-scale Data Center Exit program and requires additional engineering capacity to support both the Storage and Compute/Virtualization workstreams. The successful candidate will be involved in storage migrations, server and virtual machine migrations, environment builds, and decommissioning activities. This position requires close coordination with application, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure business continuity while minimizing operational risk.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of experience in a relevant technical role
• Experience with data center migrations, including storage, server, and virtual machine migrations
• Strong technical background in IT systems, applications, or infrastructure
• Proven problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex technical issues
• Ability to work evenings and weekends to support scheduled migration activities
• Excellent coordination and communication skills to work with cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

• Perform storage migrations, server migrations, and virtual machine migrations
• Participate in environment build activities, testing, and cutover execution
• Conduct post-migration validation and decommissioning activities
• Coordinate with application, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure successful delivery
• Support migration and cutover activities during evenings and weekends to avoid disruption to production services
