About The Position

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Database Engineer - Hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC. This is an 18+ month contract opportunity. In this role, you will be part of a product transformation team focused on improving development lifecycles and managing agile metrics. The ideal candidate will be adept at tying together disparate data sources, from BI tools to manual spreadsheets, to build a cohesive data ecosystem. You will be responsible for creating compelling data visualizations and narratives for executive presentations that demonstrate organizational improvements and business insights.

Requirements

4+ years of experience in data engineering, business intelligence, analytics, reporting, or a related technology discipline
Experience in data analytics and reporting within a large enterprise environment
Extensive experience designing and developing Power BI dashboards and enterprise reporting solutions
Strong expertise in SQL, data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data integration techniques
Experience with data connectivity and integration using APIs (REST/GraphQL), SQL, JSON/XML, ETL/ELT, webhooks, JDBC/ODBC, data connectors, and event streaming
Proficiency with Jira for tracking and managing agile metrics
Demonstrated ability in executive data storytelling, including creating trend reports, scorecards, and advanced visualizations
Ability to work independently and drive transformation initiatives

Nice To Haves

Advanced experience with Tableau or comparable visualization platforms

Responsibilities

Consult on or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within Database Engineering
Contribute to large-scale planning related to Database Engineering deliverables
Review and analyze complex challenges, leveraging a solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
Synthesize complex data from multiple sources into meaningful business insights and executive narratives
Design and develop Power BI dashboards and enterprise reporting solutions to track and manage agile and engineering metrics
Articulate data trends and issues for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
