About The Position

Genesis10 is seeking an Engineer for a Hybrid position with a Major Financial Institution in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12-month contract opportunity. The role is part of a large-scale Data Center Exit program, requiring additional engineering capacity to support both the Storage and Compute/Virtualization workstreams. The successful candidate will engage in a long-term project involving migrations, environment builds, and decommissioning activities. This position requires close coordination with application, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure business continuity while minimizing operational risk.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of experience in a relevant technical role
• Proven experience with data center migrations, including storage, server, and virtualization technologies
• Ability to analyze technical issues, develop solutions, and support IT systems
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team and coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders
• Availability to work evenings and weekends as required by the migration schedule

Responsibilities

• Execute storage migrations, server migrations, and virtual machine migrations
• Participate in environment build activities, testing, and cutover execution
• Perform post-migration validation and decommissioning activities
• Coordinate with application, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure successful delivery
• Support migration and cutover activities during evenings and weekends to avoid disruption to production services
