By joining our Engineering Support Branch - Structures Section as a Engineer-In-Training II in Jefferson County, you’ll have the opportunity to perform intermediate complex engineering work on projects with a larger scope of work to develop practical skills in support of academic theory to provide sufficient competence to qualify for registration as a professional engineer.
Requirements
- Graduate of a college or university with an accredited bachelor's degree in engineering.
- Must have two years of engineering experience as an Engineer-In-Training.
- Must possess a valid driver's license prior to employment in this job classification.
- Certification as an Engineer-In-Training recognized by the Kentucky Board of Engineers and Land Surveyors.
- Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification.

Responsibilities
- Reviews, analyzes, and performs complex engineering work to develop practical skills within the specialized area of road construction and maintenance to ensure compliance with all necessary guidelines.
- Oversees portions of engineering construction projects to analyze data and ensure conformance to approve plans and engineering standards.
- Coordinates and oversees contractors, consultants, and engineering work performed by technical crew members.
- Uses computer software to analyze, organize and compile data.
