Engineer In Training
About The Position
Engineers in Training complete a rotational assignment program through various positions in Operations, Engineering, and other areas as requested. The objective is to gain experience and graduate to a full-time process engineer once the rotation is complete. This role is accountable for understanding and following all SOPs and WIs related to job duties while supporting 6S and Lean Manufacturing concepts. The Engineer in Training must ensure all documentation, digital data, and related internal communications are handled in an appropriate and timely manner, and that communications with all personnel occur on a timely basis. Authorities are defined by the position assignments in the rotation. Duties include performing duties per jobs assigned in the rotational program, completing all assignments, projects, and training requirements as assigned, and completing overview presentations as scheduled of rotational assignment highlights.
Requirements
- BS degree in technically related field
- Strong blueprint reading skills
- Strong computer skills
- Strong organizational abilities
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Detail oriented
- Problem solving ability
- Able to work unsupervised
- Initiative to follow through the steps required
- Ability to work with all levels of the organization
- Near acuity and accommodation are required for reading machine dial gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts and machinery
- Ability to communicate to customers and employees
- Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action
