Engineer-In-Training I/II - Structural - Larkspur
About The Position
Martin/Martin, Inc. is seeking a structural Engineer-in-Training I or II for their Larkspur, California office. This role offers the chance to work on diverse projects using various structural materials, gaining experience in both new building design and existing building investigations and retrofits. A typical work week involves engineering calculations, drawing development, Construction Administration tasks, and site visits. The position provides early-career interaction with owners, architects, and contractors, and offers opportunities to collaborate on national projects with the headquarters in Lakewood, Colorado. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an engineering curriculum in Architectural, Civil, Structural, or related engineering field.
- Has passed FE Examination
- 0-4 years’ experience
- Must be eligible to work for any employer in the United States, without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- Ability to work in the Larkspur, CA area. Relocation reimbursement may be provided, depending on the role and job function.
Nice To Haves
- Master's degree in engineering from an engineering curriculum in Architectural, Civil, Structural, or related engineering field.
- Bachelor’s degree received from an institution with ABET accreditation in field of study.
- GPA of 3.5 or higher
- Working knowledge of building and material design codes
- Experience using computer design and graphics software for building structural design and documentation (AutoDesk REVIT, RAM, SAP, ETABS, RISA, etc.)
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills with a commitment to client service and a team-based approach
- Construction field experience
- Experience programming in Grasshopper, Python, Dynamo, SQL, C#, C++, VBA
Responsibilities
- Utilize computer design and graphics software to complete project Construction Documents.
- Study and apply building code, material code and/or jurisdictional requirements to complete project design calculations under the supervision of the Project Manager.
- Assist Project Manager in Construction Administration, including checking of submittments, responding to RFIs, and conducting field observations.
- Communicate and coordinate project design with clients, other team consultants, and contractors.
