About The Position

This position is part of the Engineering Development Program (EDP) at Pratt & Whitney, a world leader in aircraft engines and auxiliary power systems. Participants in the EDP will complete three to four rotations to build technical breadth and leadership abilities. The role involves structural assessments of repairs for Commercial or Military engine components, requiring knowledge of Integrated Product Development (IPD), Structures Engineering Standard Work (ESW), and the Product Design Review process. The engineer will coordinate structural analysis requirements with module centers/Component Integrated Product Teams (CIPT's) and work independently on structural analysis solutions when historical solutions are not available or applicable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
  • Experience using computer Finite Element Analysis software such as ANSYS or equivalent.
  • Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

  • Experience collaborating with a team to develop innovative ideas
  • Experience communicating clear and effective messages to a broad audience
  • Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.
