Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering and actively enrolled through completion of the internship session.
  • Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship session.
  • Experience using computer Finite Element Analysis software such as ANSYS or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience collaborating with a team to develop innovative ideas
  • Experience communicating clear and effective messages to a broad audience
  • Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the structural assessments of repairs for engine components.
  • Assist in the evaluation of structural criteria such as LCF, fracture, strength, creep, and vibration.
  • Thorough coordination of structural analysis requirements for repairs with module centers/Component Integrated Product Teams (CIPT's).
