Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Civil Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: Aftermarket notifications, Engineering Authorizations, or Change Request Technical Substantiation Package (CRTSPs).
  • Minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated knowledge of aerospace systems or turbofan engine technology.
  • Experience with structural finite element methods, hand-calculations, and use of ANSYS.
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office, SAP, and other business software.
  • Demonstrated effective communication and task coordination
  • Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis in support of military engine MRO and supportability.
  • Use finite element analysis and classical methods to evaluate for strength, deflection, vibration, fatigue life, and damage tolerance.
  • Participate as the structure’s representative on multi-discipline teams to provide design solutions that balance customer requirements for durability, performance, cost, and weight.
  • Work to advance technology and improve engineering standard work processes/methods.
  • Document analysis results and present conclusions to PW management and external customers.
