About The Position

This position determines eligibility for elderly, disabled, and other individuals for the Low-Income Energy Assistance Program; complies with program regulations to assure appropriate heating services are provided in an effective and timely manner; and responds to public inquiries regarding Department programs and services.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of basic mathematical calculation methods.
  • Knowledge of principles, practices and methods of Low-Income Energy Assistance program (preferred but required).
  • Knowledge of community social service resources.
  • Knowledge of principles and techniques of interviewing.
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise documentation, reports and correspondence that reflect relevant facts.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate information clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to actively listen, elicit needed information and provide concise information.
  • Ability to utilize computerized data systems.
  • Ability to independently organize, plan, and prioritize work to meet schedules and deadlines.
  • Ability to demonstrate compassion, respect, courtesy and tact when interacting with others.
  • Must attach resume.
  • Eligible for Veterans' Preference per ARSD 55:10:02:08.
  • All persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete an Employment Eligibility Verification, Form I-9.
