About The Position
Join the team as an Energy Assistance Worker with the Department of Human Services (DHS) and help families in Erie County access important heating support. Requirements
- Two years of experience in general office work which included interviewing the public; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Must meet the PA residency requirement.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
- Conditional offer of employment will require submission of criminal history reports.
- Must pass a background investigation.

Responsibilities
- Interview clients, complete required forms, and gather necessary information
- Enter data, scan applications, and maintain pending files
- Contact energy vendors, make collateral contacts, and support application decisions
- Assemble, analyze, and evaluate details to determine eligibility for LIHEAP benefits
- Operate office equipment, generate written communication, and travel to work sites as needed
- Assist with additional duties, apply LIHEAP regulations, and remain objective in challenging situations
