About The Position

ConvenientMD is seeking a dedicated EMT-B to provide urgent care to patients across New England. In a collaborative, fast-paced clinical setting, the EMT-B works with providers and clinical staff to deliver high-quality patient care and support clinical operations. The position includes patient interaction and education, preliminary triage, basic clinical procedures, accurate electronic health record documentation, care coordination, and support for onboarding new team members. The role requires flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays, and to travel to other clinics and training locations within the stated travel distance when needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Nationally certified and licensed EMT with at least one year of experience as an EMT.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross; CPR, ACLS, and online-only classes are not accepted.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, with availability requirements varying by employment schedule: full-time requires three shifts per week and at least four weekend shifts per month; part-time requires two shifts per week and at least two weekend shifts per month; per diem requires four shifts per month, ideally one per week.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to travel to other clinic locations and training shifts within the stated one-hour travel distance when required.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Effective written and verbal communication and ability to establish positive relationships with patients, colleagues, and organizational stakeholders.
• Ability to collaborate as part of a clinical team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, and experience with or ability to learn Experity and other business systems.
• Compassionate, authentic, patient-focused, proactive, trustworthy, and collaborative approach.

Nice To Haves

• One to two years of patient triage experience in an urgent care or emergency department.

Responsibilities

• Engage with patients professionally, answer inquiries, and provide information about medical conditions, treatment plans, and medications.
• Explain prescribed medications, including dosage instructions and potential adverse reactions.
• Offer guidance on lifestyle modifications, preventive healthcare, and follow-up care.
• Address patient questions and concerns to help them understand their health status and treatment options.
• Conduct preliminary evaluations to triage patients and determine the urgency of their medical needs.
• Take vital signs, obtain medical histories, and assist with minor medical procedures.
• Accurately document patient information in electronic health records while complying with privacy regulations.
• Communicate patient information and updates to providers and other healthcare professionals.
• Collaborate with providers on discharge plans and assist with discharge when needed.
• Welcome and support the training of new clinic team members.
• Work 12-hour shifts according to the applicable full-time, part-time, or per-diem schedule, including required weekend shifts.
• Work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• When needed, work at up to three other ConvenientMD locations within one hour of the primary clinic.
• Travel to training shifts that may take place within a one-hour commute of the primary clinic.
