About The Position

Join the Institute of Applied Behavior Analysis (IABA) team as an Employment Coach supporting adults with developmental disabilities in North Orange County, CA. IABA provides comprehensive PAID training, making this opportunity accessible to both experienced and non-experienced candidates, including non-degree holders and career changers. As an Employment Coach, you will directly impact someone's life by supporting individuals with disabilities in finding and engaging in activities, volunteer work, interests, and employment. Requirements

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Reliable vehicle, valid CA driver’s license, insurance, and clean driving record.
  • CPR/First Aid and ProAct certification within first two weeks of employment.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, squat, and lift 25 lbs.
  • Successfully pass a Live Scan DOJ/FBI background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior training in ABA or direct service is a plus!
  • ACRE-related training and competency development designed to support success in employment services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide meaningful direct services to help individuals with developmental disabilities reach their goals.
  • Support clients with autism and intellectual disabilities in workplaces, schools, and the community.
  • Facilitate meaningful community connections through activities and volunteer opportunities.
  • Teach independent living skills and promote adaptive behaviors.
  • Provide transportation and assist with public transit training.
  • Encourage client growth in a fun, supportive environment.
  • Have fun!
  • Provide transportation and assist with mobility training.
  • Personal care assistance (restroom assistance/changing diaper, wheelchair assistance, comfortable with ADLs).
  • Physically assist, guide, and facilitate movement of clients that need assistance (e.g., transfer in/out of wheelchair) and other mobility issues specific to client, and stand or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Implement behavior plans.
  • Manage behavioral escalations.
  • Assist with daily living needs.
  • Enter private residences.
  • Access confidential health and personal information.
