About The Position

Ogletree Deakins is seeking an experienced mid-level employment litigation associate for its Tampa, Florida office. The associate will join a national employment law practice representing premier local and national employers and will take a significant role in labor and employment matters. The position involves extensive contact with clients, governmental agencies, and opposing counsel.

The associate will provide legal services in a collegial, team-oriented environment and will have opportunities to work with leading attorneys in the field. The firm supports attorney development through ongoing writing, publishing, and speaking opportunities, professional development programs, and regular all-attorney in-person conferences. Requirements

• Juris Doctor.
• Must be licensed to practice law in Florida and remain in good standing, including meeting continuing licensure requirements during employment.
• At least 5 years of employment litigation experience.
• Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills.
• Passion for employment law and the ability to relate to and inspire confidence with sophisticated business clients.

Responsibilities

• Perform legal research.
• Draft legal memoranda, motions, and pleadings.
• Attend court conferences.
• Handle discovery-related activities and investigations.
• Draft position statements and dispositive motions.
• Counsel clients on employment-law-related matters.
• Communicate extensively with clients, governmental agencies, and opposing counsel.
