About The Position

Emergency Veterinary Care Centers (EVCC) is seeking skilled, friendly, and energetic newly graduated Emergency Veterinarians for its Westville location. EVCC is a rapidly growing group of emergency veterinary hospitals with six locations across the Midwest, dedicated to expanding into and supporting communities that need 24/7 emergency care. Founded by local general practice veterinarians, EVCC fosters a collaborative, team-first environment committed to delivering exceptional, around-the-clock care. This role is part of a structured mentorship program designed specifically for new graduates transitioning into emergency veterinary medicine, aiming to build confidence, develop critical ER skills, and provide comprehensive support. The mentorship experience is personalized, with a phased approach over 12 months, starting with exclusive shifts with a core DVM mentor, progressing to overlapping shifts with other associate DVMs, and finally a mix of solo and overlapping shifts to foster independence. Support is available from other EVCC veterinarians during solo shifts, and progression is determined collaboratively. Requirements

  • Graduate of an AVMA accredited Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program
  • Possesses state veterinary license in good standing or eligible to obtain one
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think quickly on your feet
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and compassionate “bedside” manner

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellence in emergency veterinary medicine.
  • Participate in a structured mentorship program for new graduates.
  • Develop critical ER skills through hands-on guidance, case discussions, and consistent support.
  • Collaborate with other associate DVMs to build relationships within the medical team and gain exposure to a variety of clinical cases.
  • Develop independence through a mix of solo and overlapping shifts.
  • Utilize real-time support from veterinarians at other EVCC locations during solo shifts.
  • Build trust and strong relationships with clients, both human and furry.
