JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Emergency Medicine NP/PA • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Blacksburg, VA • Service Setting: Emergency Department • Coverage Type: Clinical Only • Coverage Period: April 14, 2026 – Ongoing • Clinical Shift Schedule: Flexible scheduling based on facility needs PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: All ages • Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 32,000 annual visits • Admissions: Approximately 16% • Case Mix: Broad emergency medicine cases in a community hospital setting FACILITY INFORMATION • No. of Beds in Department: 19 ED beds • EMR System: Meditech • Office Equipment Available: Standard emergency department equipment • Specialty Backup Available: OB/GYN, Hospitalist, Nephrology, Orthopedics, Pediatrics, Podiatry, Anesthesia, Cardiology, Pulmonology, Radiology, Surgery, Telepsych, Teleneuro, Trauma services • Support Staff Available: Physician coverage (24 hours) and APP coverage (36 hours) • Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Rate: TBD • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: TBD REQUIRED PROCEDURES • Emergency medicine procedures across full acuity range JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active VA NP or PA license required • Board: AANP/ANCC (NP) or NCCPA (PA) required • DEA: Required with VA address; CSR required if applicable • Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, PALS • Experience: Documentation of case logs and CME for past 2 years required • Other Qualifications: Must be cross-credentialed at multiple facility sites DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide emergency medical care across all patient populations • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute conditions • Perform emergency procedures as needed • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team • Maintain accurate clinical documentation in Meditech EMR
