About The Position

Provide emergency medical care to patients of all ages in an outpatient emergency department in Hancock, Michigan. This locum tenens position provides supplemental clinical coverage from December 28, 2026, through March 31, 2027, with scheduled shifts from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. The facility is a Level III trauma center with an average daily volume of 36 patients and approximately three admissions per day. The EMR system is MediTech. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are provided. Hospital privileges are required.

Requirements

• Board certified or board eligible.
• Michigan license or IMLC.
• BLS certification.
• DEA registration.
• Hospital privileges required.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency medical care to patients of all ages in the ED.
• Perform patient evaluations, diagnostics, and treatment plans.
• Manage admissions and discharges as needed.
• Collaborate with ED physicians and nursing staff for patient care.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the MediTech EMR.
• Perform common emergency procedures, including nail trephination; simple and complex suturing; staple placement; cautery and Rhino R epistaxis treatment; tick removal; ear and eye foreign-body removal; abscess incision and drainage; digital and dental blocks; skin tear repair; intraocular pressure checks and fluorescein staining; joint reductions; Orthoglass application; and bursa aspiration.
