About The Position

Heartland Ambulance is a private ambulance provider in Indiana focused on delivering high-quality care and supporting patients’ individual healthcare needs. Emergency Medical Technicians are responsible for the proper and ethical treatment of patients, providing emergency medical care, patient assessment and care, and transport services. The role requires maintaining patient confidentiality, following protocols, and practicing professionalism. EMTs operate and maintain ambulances and company equipment, provide basic life support and transportation, and keep vehicles, supplies, and work areas clean and properly stocked. The position is full-time and performed in person in Charlestown, Indiana.

Requirements

Valid State Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.
Current CPR certification; classes are offered for free.
Current and valid driver's license.
High school diploma or GED.
At least 18 years of age.
No more than two accidents and/or moving violations in the last three years.

Responsibilities

Safely and efficiently operate ambulances and other company equipment.
Provide basic life support treatment and transport sick and injured people.
Provide emergency medical treatment and patient assessment and care.
Prepare inventories, stock supplies, and inspect equipment to ensure proper operation.
Clean and disinfect ambulance interiors and clean and detail ambulance exteriors.
Clean and maintain the cleanliness and proper stocking of ambulances, company vehicles, equipment, the office, lounge, and bathrooms.
Safely lift, transfer, and maneuver patients in and out of ambulances, facilities, residences, and other locations.
Respect patient confidentiality, follow protocols, and practice professionalism.
