About The Position

Heartland Ambulance is a private ambulance provider in Indiana focused on delivering high-quality care and supporting a positive work environment. Emergency Medical Technicians provide emergency medical care, assess and care for patients, transport patients, and perform related services. They are expected to treat patients properly and ethically, respect confidentiality, follow protocols, and maintain professionalism. This is an in-person, full-time position in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Requirements

Valid State Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.
Current CPR certification; classes are offered free.
Current and valid driver's license.
High school diploma or GED.
At least 18 years of age.
No more than two accidents and/or moving violations in the last three years.

Responsibilities

Operate ambulances and other company equipment safely and efficiently.
Provide basic life support treatment and transportation for sick and injured people.
Provide emergency medical treatment.
Prepare inventories, stock supplies, and inspect equipment for proper operation.
Clean and disinfect the ambulance interior and clean and detail its exterior.
Maintain the cleanliness and proper stocking of ambulances, company vehicles, equipment, the office, lounge, and bathrooms.
Safely lift, transfer, and maneuver patients into and out of ambulances and at facilities, residences, and other locations.
