About The Position
Heartland Ambulance Services is a private ambulance provider in Indiana focused on providing high-quality care and a positive work environment. Emergency Medical Technicians are responsible for the proper and ethical treatment of patients. They provide emergency medical care, assess and care for patients, provide transportation, and perform related duties while respecting confidentiality, following protocols, and practicing professionally. This is a full-time, in-person role in Charlestown, Indiana.
Requirements
- Valid State Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.
- Current CPR certification; classes are offered for free.
- Current and valid driver's license.
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 18 years of age.
- No more than two accidents and/or moving violations in the last three years.
Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate ambulances and other company equipment.
- Provide basic life support treatment and transport sick and injured people.
- Provide emergency medical treatment.
- Prepare inventories, stock supplies, and inspect equipment to ensure proper operation.
- Clean and disinfect ambulance interiors and clean and detail ambulance exteriors.
- Maintain the cleanliness and proper stocking of ambulances, company vehicles, equipment, office, lounge, and bathrooms.
- Safely lift, transfer, and maneuver patients into and out of ambulances, facilities, residences, and other locations.
