About The Position

Heartland Ambulance Service is a private ambulance provider in Indiana whose mission is to provide high-quality care. Emergency Medical Technicians are responsible for the proper and ethical treatment of patients. They provide emergency medical care, patient assessment and care, and transport services while respecting confidentiality, following protocols, and acting professionally. The role also includes operating and maintaining ambulances and company equipment, stocking supplies, and keeping vehicles and work areas clean.

Requirements

Valid State Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.
Current CPR certification.
Current and valid driver's license.
High school diploma or GED.
At least 18 years of age.
No more than two accidents and/or moving violations in the last three years.
Ability to safely lift, transfer, and maneuver patients.

Responsibilities

Safely and efficiently operate ambulances and other company equipment.
Provide basic life support treatment and transport sick and injured persons.
Provide emergency medical treatment.
Prepare inventories, stock supplies, and inspect equipment for proper operation.
Clean and disinfect the interior of the ambulance.
Clean and detail the exterior of the ambulance.
Maintain cleanliness and proper stocking of ambulances, company vehicles, equipment, the office, lounge, and bathrooms.
Safely lift, transfer, and maneuver patients in and out of ambulances, facilities, residences, and other locations.
Respect patient confidentiality, follow protocols, and practice professionally.
