About The Position

Knowledge Services is hiring an Eligibility Specialist for the FSSA/Division of Family Resources (DFR) in Warsaw, Indiana. The role assists with processing applications and documents for Indiana residents seeking or receiving public assistance, including TANF, SNAP, and Medicaid. DFR determines eligibility for these programs. The position provides an opportunity to contribute to the community and offers potential for promotion. An extensive training program is provided. The role pays $18.00 per hour and has a 37.5-hour Monday–Friday work week, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Basic math skills.
Case management skills.
Strong customer service background and a professional demeanor.
Be highly organized and analytical, and work effectively as a team player.
Be an independent, reliable, and dependable self-starter.

Nice To Haves

Associate or bachelor's degree in Counseling or Social Services.
Two years of experience in a social service environment, state or local government, pertaining to employment or training programs.
Previous Case Manager experience.
Experience as a Case Manager, Eligibility Specialist, Eligibility Associate, Office Manager, Call Center Customer Service Specialist, or Client Specialist.

Responsibilities

Gather data for relevant assistance programs from clients, either face-to-face or by phone.
Verify that information is gathered accurately and meets state policies.
Obtain release forms and medical records as needed.
Verify income, assets, and other financial or legal documents.
Review regulations and program requirements with clients.
Use an automated program to determine eligibility for state assistance programs.
Enter data into the state database.
Respond to inquiries promptly by phone or email.
