About The Position

Southeast Elevator is hiring an Installation Mechanic Apprentice to learn how to install and service residential elevators and wheelchair lifts. Apprentices receive mentoring, structured training, and hands-on experience working alongside experienced mechanics. As skills develop, apprentices take on greater responsibility and independence in the field. Successful apprentices may be promoted to lead mechanic within 12–18 months, with increased responsibility and compensation during and after the program. The role requires regular travel between Orlando and Tampa.

Requirements

• Ability to travel between Orlando and Tampa.
• Comfortable working at heights and on ladders.
• Ability to lift up to 150 lbs.
• Experience using hand tools safely and properly.
• Customer-oriented and a motivated self-starter.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Nice To Haves

• Prior elevator or construction experience is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Learn the installation and servicing of residential elevators and wheelchair lifts alongside experienced mechanics.
• Install residential elevators and wheelchair lifts after training.
• Work as part of a two-person installation team on job sites.
• Assist in training and mentoring new team members.
• Interact professionally with customers and general contractors.
• Demonstrate safety awareness and comply with regulations.
• Develop knowledge of safety codes and industry standards.
• Multitask with patience, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Operate basic computer equipment and mobile devices.
• Maintain a clean driving record.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
