Elevator Installation Mechanic Apprentice
About The Position
Residential Elevators is hiring a full-time, paid Elevator Installation Mechanic Apprentice in the Houston, Texas area. The position is intended for people beginning a long-term career in the skilled trades. Apprentices receive hands-on training and mentorship from experienced elevator mechanics while learning to install and service residential elevators. Most apprentices are promoted within 12–18 months to Service Technician or Installation Mechanic, with stated post-promotion earning potential of $60,000–$90,000 or more. The work is on the road and involves mostly regional travel from Houston, with travel of up to 90%. Starting pay is $18.00–$24.00 per hour.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Able and willing to travel up to 90%.
- Physically capable of lifting 50+ pounds and performing hard physical work.
- Comfortable working at heights, on ladders, and in tight spaces.
- Knowledge of how to safely use hand tools.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in construction, electrical, mechanical, or elevator industries.
