About The Position

Residential Elevators is hiring a full-time, paid Elevator Install Mechanic Apprentice in the Fort Lauderdale, Florida area. The apprentice program is intended for people beginning a long-term career in the skilled trades. Apprentices receive hands-on training and mentorship from experienced elevator mechanics and learn to install and service custom residential elevators. Most apprentices are promoted within 12–18 months to Service Technician or Installation Mechanic, with stated post-promotion earning potential of $60,000–$90,000 or more. Starting pay is $18.00–$24.00 per hour. The role involves travel up to 90%, mostly regional travel around Fort Lauderdale, and physically demanding work at heights, on ladders, and in tight spaces.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Able and willing to travel up to 90%.
Physically capable of lifting 50+ pounds and doing hard physical work.
Comfort working at heights, on ladders, and in tight spaces.
Knowledge of safe hand-tool use.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in construction, electrical, mechanical, or elevator industries.

Responsibilities

Learn to install and service residential elevators through hands-on training and mentorship.
