About The Position
Southeast Elevator is hiring an Installation Mechanic Apprentice to learn the installation and servicing of residential elevators and wheelchair lifts. Apprentices receive mentoring, training, and hands-on experience while working alongside experienced mechanics. As their skills develop, they take on increased responsibility and independence in the field. Successful apprentices may advance to lead mechanic within 12–18 months, with increased responsibility and compensation during and after the program.
Requirements
- Ability to travel within the Tampa market.
- Comfort working at heights and on ladders.
- Ability to lift up to 150 pounds.
- Experience using hand tools safely and properly.
- Customer-oriented and motivated self-starter.
- Valid driver’s license.
Nice To Haves
- Prior elevator or construction experience.
Responsibilities
- Learn to install and service residential elevators and wheelchair lifts.
- Work as part of a two-person installation team at job sites.
- Assist in training and mentoring new team members.
- Communicate professionally with customers and general contractors.
- Demonstrate safety awareness and comply with regulations.
- Develop knowledge of safety codes and industry standards.
- Multitask with patience, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Operate basic computer equipment and mobile devices.
- Maintain a clean driving record.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
