About The Position

This posting is for an Elementary: Speaking and Writing Skills course (ESL 1212, Section A) for the Fall 2026 semester at the Main Campus. The course focuses on basic English language speaking and writing skills, including grammar, vocabulary, spelling, and pronunciation. It involves developing oral communication through guided conversation and short presentations related to the university workplace, and written expression at the sentence level. Language learning strategies for the university context will also be covered. The course will run from September 29 to December 10, 2026, excluding reading week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This course is delivered online in a virtual mode. This posting is limited to Part-Time Language Instructors (OLBI).

Requirements

• B.A. with specialization in a field relevant to the teaching of L2 English or Higher Certificate in L2 French Teaching.
• Two years of experience teaching ESL at the college and/or university level.
• Previous experience teaching this course or an equivalent ESL course.
• Experience with heterogeneous groups.
• An acceptable level of education/experience may be considered equivalent to the required training and/or demonstrated experience.
