About The Position

This is a new position for the Fall 2026 semester at the Main Campus, within the Faculty of Arts, Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute (OLBI). The course, ESL 1210 Section A, focuses on Elementary Reading and Listening Skills. It aims to develop comprehension of elementary oral and written expression, with vocabulary relevant to the workplace and grammatical structures. Students will practice second language learning strategies for understanding written text, basic conversations, and note-taking in a university context. The course runs from September 29 to December 10, 2026, excluding reading week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This course is delivered online in a virtual mode. The posting is limited to Part-Time Language Instructors (OLBI).

Requirements

• B.A. with specialization in a field relevant to the teaching of L2 English or Higher Certificate in L2 French Teaching
• Two years of experience teaching ESL at the college and/or university level
• Previous experience teaching this course or an equivalent ESL course
• Experience with heterogeneous groups
• Successfully complete all legislated mandatory training
