About The Position

The general objective of the workshop is to increase the participants' facility with and confidence in their use of oral English in a relatively informal and relaxed atmosphere. The level of the English workshop in Oral Communication Skills depends on the level of the majority of participants who register. OLBI reserves the right to cancel any course with insufficient course enrollment. This course is given in person. The University of Ottawa embraces diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Requirements

  • B.A. with specialization in a field relevant to the teaching of L2 English or Higher Certificate in L2 English Teaching.
  • Two years of experience teaching ESL at the college and/or university level.
  • Previous experience teaching this course or an equivalent ESL course.
  • Experience with heterogeneous group.
  • An acceptable level of education/experience may be considered equivalent to the required training and/or demonstrated experience.
  • Employees are required by provincial legislation to successfully complete all legislated mandatory training.
  • The list of courses may be amended by provincial legislation.

  • Previous experience teaching this course or an equivalent ESL course.
