The Elementary Math Coach is a highly qualified, state-certified educator who delivers course content in an online environment. The teacher provides instruction, support, and guidance; manages the learning process; and addresses students’ individual needs. The role monitors student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system and works closely with students and parents or learning coaches to advance learning toward established goals. Teachers typically work from home in a professional, distraction-free home office. This full-time role generally requires 40 or more hours per week, typically during a 9–5 or 8–4 schedule, or as defined by the school. The position is virtual, but requires occasional travel throughout the year for school functions, including face-to-face professional development and student testing. Travel is described as averaging once per month and/or approximately 20% of the time. The position is with Michigan Virtual Charter Academy (MVCA), a Stride K12 partner school. MVCA’s mission is to provide students with an individualized, engaging educational experience through school and community/family partnerships, rigorous curriculum, and a data-driven, student-centered instructional model. The position offers a base salary around $47,000, with eligibility for a performance bonus. Applicants must reside in Michigan and hold Michigan Elementary Teaching Certification.
