About The Position
Study Smart Tutors is hiring a part-time, in-person Elementary ELA Literacy Tutor in East Palo Alto, California, for Fall 2026. The tutor will provide literacy support to K–5 students in small and large groups and may access information about students’ class assignments. The role involves adapting to new materials and teaching strategies, communicating consistently with Study Smart staff, and partnering with the Education team to provide comprehensive learning strategies. The schedule is Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 PM to 6:15 PM PST.
Requirements
- Hold a completed four-year degree.
- Be available to work in person.
- Complete and pass a background check, which may include fingerprinting based on location.
Nice To Haves
- Teaching or tutoring experience.
- Bilingual Spanish skills or strong experience working with ELD populations.
Responsibilities
- Teach ELA literacy to students in grades K–5.
- Provide tutoring support to small and large groups of students.
- Adapt to new materials and teaching strategies.
- Maintain consistent communication with Study Smart staff.
- Partner with Study Smart’s Education team to provide comprehensive learning strategies to students.
