About The Position

Study Smart is hiring a part-time tutor to provide in-person ELA literacy support to students in kindergarten through fifth grade in Half Moon Bay, California, for Fall 2026. The tutor will work with small and large groups, adapt to teaching materials and strategies, and coordinate with Study Smart staff and the Education team to support students’ learning. The scheduled hours are Mondays and Tuesdays from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Requirements

• Must hold a completed four-year degree.
• In-person availability is required.
• Complete and pass a background check, which may include fingerprinting based on location.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual Spanish skills are preferred.
• Teaching or tutoring experience is strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide ELA literacy tutoring to students in kindergarten through fifth grade.
• Provide tutoring support to small and large groups of students.
• Adapt to new materials and teaching strategies.
• Maintain consistent communication with Study Smart staff.
• Partner with Study Smart’s Education team to provide comprehensive learning strategies to students.
