The Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Simulation & Design Engineer is responsible for developing and co-owning virtual EMI/EMC roadmaps, defining modeling architectures and workflows for standard conducted and radiated emissions and immunity tests across product lines. The role builds scalable hybrid simulation workflows spanning quasi-static extraction, PEEC/MTL cable modeling, full-wave 3D electromagnetic analysis, and circuit co-simulation, selecting appropriate physics fidelity for each frequency band and geometry scale. The engineer leads simulation correlation and validation campaigns, designs experiments, quantifies model accuracy, and establishes acceptance criteria and model governance. They provide EMC guidance during architecture, schematic, layout, and mechanical integration to prevent issues before prototype builds, and partner with test labs and suppliers to align virtual models with physical fixtures and ensure vendor component models are suitable for simulation. The role also includes research and development using vector network analyzers and other RF measurement equipment; EMC chamber mapping and uniformity work; vehicle antenna pattern measurement and matching; correlation studies across vehicle tests, bench-level tests, and EMC simulations; and training other engineers in simulation methodologies and tool development.
