About The Position
Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. seeks Electricians for its Wilmington, North Carolina office. The company performs installation, rigging, millwrighting, and maintenance for manufacturing and industrial markets across the Southeast. Hired candidates will be considered for benefits and paid time off after three months. Significant travel may be required, and regular attendance is required.
Requirements
- Skilled in written and verbal communication.
- Complete all safety and general job training required by SIC.
- Observe SIC and customer safety and quality processes and procedures at all times.
- Effectively use all required personal protective equipment.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Safely access property, buildings, structures, wharves, rooftops, elevated positions, and confined spaces.
- Safely operate all equipment and tools involved in the work.
- Stand for long periods, bend consistently, work in confined spaces with limited access, work on ladders and in personnel lifts and workboats, and work in awkward body positions.
- Meet the strenuous physical demands required to safely perform the essential functions of the position.
Responsibilities
- Read and follow blueprints, sketches, building plans, directions, and other drawings related to materials and installation.
- Prepare layouts using tools such as voltage testers, wire strippers, levels, and pipe benders.
- Terminate panels using lockout/tagout (LOTO).
- Plan installation sequences to avoid obstructions and conflicts with other construction work.
- Run cable tray, pull wire, and bend various types of conduit.
- Understand motor controls and metering.
- Size branch-circuit overcurrent protection devices.
- Calculate loads for single-phase and three-phase branch circuits.
- Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy and evaluate information using measurable or checkable standards.
- Review and compare the size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects, and visualize three-dimensional objects from plans and drawings.
- Make decisions based on measurable criteria.
- Perform work overhead, beneath structures, and in other positions required by working conditions.
- Lift and carry objects of varying weights.
- Detect, recognize, and respond to dangerous conditions or situations.
- Complete required safety and general job training and follow SIC and customer safety and quality procedures.
- Perform other duties as required.
