About The Position
Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. seeks Electricians for its Wilmington, North Carolina office. The role involves electrical installation and related work for manufacturing and industrial markets. Candidates may be considered for benefits and paid time off after three months. Significant travel may be required. Regular attendance is required.
Requirements
- Skilled written and verbal communication.
- Complete all safety and general job training required by SIC.
- Observe SIC and customer safety and quality processes and procedures at all times.
- Effectively use all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Safely operate all equipment and tools involved in the work.
- Safely access properties, buildings, structures, wharves, rooftops, elevated positions, and confined spaces.
- Ability to stand for long periods, bend consistently, work in confined spaces with limited access, work on ladders and personnel lifts, work in workboats, and work in awkward body positions.
- Ability to work in conditions involving dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and adverse weather.
Responsibilities
- Read and follow blueprints, sketches, building plans, directions, and installation plans.
- Prepare layouts using tools such as voltage testers, wire strippers, levels, and pipe benders.
- Terminate panels using lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Plan installation sequences to avoid obstructions and conflicts with other construction work.
- Run cable tray, pull wire, and bend conduit.
- Work with motor controls and metering.
- Size branch-circuit overcurrent protection devices and calculate loads for single-phase and three-phase branch circuits.
- Perform work overhead, beneath structures, and in other positions required by working conditions.
- Lift and carry objects of varying weights; identify and respond to dangerous conditions.
- Follow SIC and customer safety and quality procedures, complete required safety and general job training, and maintain regular attendance.
- Perform other duties as required.
