About The Position
Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. is seeking an Electrician for a project in Hamlet, North Carolina. The role involves electrical installation and construction work, including interpreting plans, preparing layouts, installing cable tray and conduit, pulling wire, terminating panels, and working with motor controls and metering. The electrician must follow safety and quality procedures and complete required training. Benefits and paid time off eligibility begins after three months. Significant travel may be required.
Requirements
- Skilled written and verbal communication.
- Ability to use required personal protective equipment and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely access property, buildings, structures, wharves, rooftops, elevated positions, and confined spaces.
- Ability to stand for long periods, bend consistently, and work in confined spaces with limited access, on ladders and personnel lifts, in workboats, and in awkward body positions.
- Ability to safely operate all involved equipment and tools.
- Ability to work in physically strenuous conditions and recognize and respond to dangerous situations.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and building plans related to materials and installations.
- Prepare layouts using tools such as voltage testers, wire strippers, levels, and pipe benders.
- Terminate panels while utilizing lockout/tagout (LOTO).
- Plan installation sequences to avoid obstructions and conflicts with other construction activities.
- Install cable tray, pull wire, and bend various types of conduit.
- Work with motor controls and metering.
- Size branch-circuit overcurrent protection devices.
- Calculate loads for single-phase and three-phase branch circuits.
- Follow directions, plans, and blueprints and work within specified accuracy standards.
- Work overhead, beneath structures, and from other positions as required by site conditions.
- Lift and carry objects of varying weights and respond to dangerous conditions or situations.
- Attend work regularly and perform other duties as required.
- Complete required safety and general job training and observe SIC and customer safety and quality procedures.
- Safely operate required equipment and tools and use required personal protective equipment.
- Travel as required for the work.
