About The Position
Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. is hiring Electrical Helpers for a project in Hamlet, North Carolina. The role assists with electrical installation and maintenance work for manufacturing and industrial markets. Employees may be considered for benefits and paid time off after three months. The job involves working across office, shop, warehouse, traffic-area, and undeveloped-property settings, as well as elevated locations and confined spaces.
Requirements
- Skilled in written and verbal communication.
- Complete all safety and general job training required by SIC.
- Observe SIC and customer safety and quality processes and procedures at all times.
- Effectively use all required personal protective equipment.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Safely access property, buildings, structures, wharves, rooftops, elevated positions, and confined spaces.
- Safely operate all equipment and tools involved in the work.
- Stand for long periods and bend consistently.
- Work in confined spaces with limited access, on ladders, in personnel lifts, in workboats, and in awkward body positions.
- Meet the strenuous physical demands required to perform the essential functions safely.
Responsibilities
- Identify the tools required for assigned tasks.
- Identify safety risks and precautions needed to eliminate those risks.
- Assist with cutting, bending, and running conduit according to blueprints.
- Assist with installing, modifying, and fabricating cable tray to specifications.
- Assist with pulling cable through specified pathways.
- Assist with assembling and installing electrical equipment.
- Assist with terminating wires and cables to electrical equipment, including breakers, control panels, and distribution systems.
- Assist with testing electrical components for continuity and proper voltage readings according to specifications.
- Assist with inspecting electrical equipment and components for hazards and operational condition.
- Assist with setting up and maintaining temporary power systems.
- Assist with installing and maintaining grounding systems for equipment and structures.
- Assist with hoisting equipment and tools into position using bull rigging or a crane.
- Complete required safety and general job training.
- Follow company and customer safety and quality processes and procedures.
