About The Position
Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. is seeking an Electrician for a project in Wilmington, North Carolina. The role involves electrical installation work in industrial and construction settings, including conduit and cable work, panel termination, and motor controls. Candidates will be considered for benefits and paid time off after three months. Significant travel may be required.
Requirements
- Skilled written and verbal communication.
- Ability to effectively use required personal protective equipment and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely access property, buildings, structures, wharves, rooftops, elevated positions, and confined spaces.
- Ability to stand for long periods, bend consistently, work in confined spaces with limited access, work on ladders and personnel lifts, work in workboats, and work in awkward body positions.
- Ability to safely operate all equipment and tools involved in the work.
- Ability to detect, recognize, and respond to dangerous conditions or situations.
- Ability to complete safety and general job training and comply with safety and quality procedures.
Responsibilities
- Read and follow blueprints, sketches, building plans, directions, and installation plans.
- Prepare layouts and use tools such as voltage testers, wire strippers, levels, and pipe benders.
- Terminate panels using LOTO procedures.
- Sequence installations to avoid obstructions and conflicts with other construction work.
- Install cable tray, pull wire, and bend various types of conduit.
- Work with motor controls and metering.
- Size branch-circuit overcurrent protection devices and calculate loads for single-phase and three-phase branch circuits.
- Assess and compare measurements, lines, figures, and objects using defined standards and measurable criteria.
- Work overhead, beneath structures, and in other positions required by site conditions.
- Lift and carry objects of varying weights and respond to dangerous conditions.
- Maintain regular attendance and complete other duties as required.
- Complete required safety and general job training and follow company and customer safety and quality procedures.
- Safely operate required equipment and tools and use required personal protective equipment.
