About The Position

Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. seeks Pipe Welders for a project in Midland, North Carolina. The role involves selecting equipment and planning layouts, assembling and welding metal components, and repairing products. Candidates must hold certification at one or more levels. Candidates hired for the project will be considered for benefits and paid time off after three months. The position requires completing required safety and general job training and following SIC and customer safety and quality procedures.

Requirements

Certification at one or more levels is required.
Skilled in written and verbal communication.
Must be able to use all required personal protective equipment and lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to safely operate all involved equipment and tools.
Must be able to safely access work areas including elevated positions and confined spaces.
Must be capable of standing for long periods, bending consistently, working in confined spaces with limited access, on ladders, in personnel lifts and workboats, and in awkward body positions.

Responsibilities

Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding based on knowledge of metal properties, machining, weld shrinkage, and welding techniques.
Lay out, position, align, and fit components together.
Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure them in position for welding.
Set up equipment and weld parts using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipment.
Assemble parts by bolting and riveting.
Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts using a cutting torch, straightening press, and hand tools.
Rate information using standards that can be measured or checked.
Detect, recognize, and respond to dangerous conditions and situations.
Complete required safety and general job training.
Follow SIC and customer safety and quality processes and procedures at all times.
