About The Position

Anduril Expeditionary Systems (AES) develops and fields next-generation hardware, from man-portable systems to autonomous launchers, to modernize command-and-control capabilities for U.S. and Allied forces. The Electrical Engineering Technician supports electronics assembly, test, troubleshooting, and repair in a lab environment, helping deliver and maintain these systems. The role builds and modifies cable and wire harness assemblies; performs precision PCB assembly and rework; sets up and operates test equipment to verify PCB and integrated power-system performance; diagnoses and repairs failures; and documents testing, rework, assembly details, and failure modes. It also maintains a clean and safe lab environment, including environmental health and safety, quality compliance, equipment calibration, and materials and consumables. The position reports directly to the Electrical Engineering Lab Supervisor.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of hands-on electronics assembly, testing, and rework experience in an R&D or production environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics, assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, bills of materials, and technical datasheets.
  • Proficiency in fine-pitch SMT and through-hole soldering, to IPC J-STD-001 or equivalent standards.
  • Experience with PCB rework, component replacement, and modification.
  • Experience building and modifying complex cable and wire harness assemblies, including crimping, soldering connector types, and wire routing, to IPC-620 or equivalent standards.
  • Proficiency diagnosing electronic failures to the component level using standard test equipment and documentation.
  • Understanding of product development, lifecycles, reliability, and compliance testing.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize simultaneous tasks in an electronics lab or test environment.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in Electrical/Electronics, Computer, Mechanical Technologies, or a related field.
  • Experience with automotive or military ground-vehicle harnessing.
  • Active IPC-610, IPC-620, and J-STD-001 certifications.
  • Experience using CAD/ECAD viewers such as Altium, Siemens NX, or OrCAD to locate components and assemblies on PCBs or power systems.
  • Experience using PLM systems such as Teamcenter to navigate drawing lifecycles.
  • Familiarity with environmental testing, including thermal chambers, vibration tables, and burn-in procedures.
  • Ability to travel within the Continental United States, up to 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Build, assemble, and modify complex cable and wire harness assemblies, including crimping contacts, soldering connector types, and routing wires according to schematics and engineering drawings.
  • Perform precision PCB rework and assembly, including SMT and through-hole soldering, component replacement, jumper-wire installation under a microscope, conformal coating, and staking.
  • Execute test plans by setting up, configuring, and operating test equipment to verify PCB and integrated power-system performance.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electronic assembly and power-system failures to the component or assembly level using schematics, layouts, and wiring diagrams, and perform necessary repairs.
  • Document test data, rework actions, assembly details, and failure modes to support engineering analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a clean and safe lab environment, including EHS and quality compliance, equipment calibration, and stock materials and consumables.

Benefits

  • Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full-time offers and are considered part of total compensation.
  • Top-tier benefits for full-time employees, including a comprehensive, competitive benefits package available at little to no cost to employees.
