Electrical Design Engineer (Analog & Mixed Signal)

Echodyne Corp•Kirkland, WA
•$115,000 - $140,000

About The Position

Echodyne is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to mature analog and digital/mixed-signal (AMS) subsystems for advanced radar systems. The role involves designing and verifying subsystems, transitioning designs to manufacturing, and supporting their long-term health. The engineer will contribute technical expertise in AMS circuit design, simulation, and analysis to guide design execution, verification planning, and risk mitigation. The position also contributes to root-cause investigations, trade studies, and continuous improvement across the product lifecycle. The engineer will lead and participate in design-shaping discussions and technical reviews with multidisciplinary teams to develop robust radar architectures, resolve complex technical challenges, and align work with program objectives and Design for Excellence (DFX) principles.

Requirements

  • Background in analog and mixed-signal circuit design.
  • Strong foundation in analog and mixed-signal circuit theory and hands-on experience developing high-reliability commercial or consumer products.
  • Understanding of analog and digital building blocks, including operational amplifiers, logic gates, clock buffers, level shifters, power management ICs, current mirrors, charge pumps, oscillators, and voltage regulators.
  • Understanding of low-speed signaling protocols such as SPI and I2C.
  • Experience with circuit design and simulation using Altium Designer or equivalent and SPICE-like tools.
  • Understanding of component selection and layout optimization, balancing efficiency, thermal performance, and signal integrity.
  • Practical experience applying Design for Manufacturability, Assembly, and Test principles to improve product quality, testability, and yield throughout the design lifecycle.
  • Hands-on experience in board bring-up, acceptance testing, and design verification of PCBs, supporting transitions from prototype to production.
  • Skill in debugging and troubleshooting circuits using oscilloscopes, function generators, logic analyzers, digital multimeters, and other laboratory equipment.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Material Science, or Physics.
  • At least 2 years of experience designing printed circuit assemblies for mixed-signal applications.
  • Eligibility to handle export-controlled information (ITAR/EAR), or obtain required U.S. Government authorizations.

Responsibilities

  • Design, verify, transition to manufacturing, and support the long-term health of analog and digital/mixed-signal subsystems for advanced radar systems.
  • Lead and contribute to design-shaping discussions and technical reviews with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Help develop robust radar architectures and resolve complex technical challenges while aligning work with program objectives and Design for Excellence principles.
  • Apply expertise in AMS circuit design, simulation, and analysis to guide design execution, verification planning, and risk mitigation.
  • Contribute to root-cause investigations, trade studies, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance subsystem performance.
  • Perform board bring-up, acceptance testing, and design verification of printed circuit boards.
  • Debug and troubleshoot circuits using laboratory equipment.
