About The Position

The EPG Rental Technician services, diagnoses, and repairs electric power generation rental equipment for power, temperature control, air, pumps, and used equipment at Carter or customer facilities. The position supports customer needs in the field and requires independent work when necessary, advanced troubleshooting, and a strong customer-service focus. The technician may be called upon for after-hours emergency service and must be available to work additional hours and travel, including out of the country, to meet customer demands.

Requirements

• Thorough understanding of gensets, air compressors, fuel tanks, and pumps.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organization and workload-prioritization skills.
• Availability for after-hours emergency service requests, 24/7/365.
• Ability to work additional hours as required and travel out of town, including internationally, to meet customer demands.
• Experience using and applying electronic software.
• Excellent driving record and ability to obtain a CDL and/or DOT certification.
• High school diploma or GED.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience with UPS and paralleling, diagnosing and troubleshooting engine failures, and performing mechanical repairs to electrical generator systems and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Service, diagnose, and repair EPG rental equipment for power, temperature control, air, pumps, and used equipment.
• Perform product improvement plans on gensets, air compressors, fuel tanks, pumps, UPS, and paralleling equipment.
• Work independently in the field as needed to support PSD rental equipment.
• Provide after-hours emergency service to customers as needed, 24/7/365.
• Prioritize workload and provide excellent customer service.
