About The Position

The EPG Rental Technician services, diagnoses, and repairs electric power generation (EPG) rental equipment for power, temperature control, air, pumps, and used equipment at Carter or customer facilities. The role supports Carter’s rental equipment and customers, including independent field work as needed.

Requirements

Thorough understanding of gensets, air compressors, fuel tanks, and pumps.
Ability to perform product improvement plans on gensets, air compressors, fuel tanks, pumps, UPS, and paralleling equipment.
Ability to work independently in the field as needed to support PSD rental equipment.
Advanced troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong organization and workload-prioritization abilities, while providing excellent customer service.
Availability for after-hours emergency customer service requests 24/7/365.
Ability to work additional hours and travel out of town, including out of the country.
Experience using and applying electronic software.
Excellent driving record and ability to obtain a CDL and/or DOT certification.
High school diploma or GED.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience with UPS and paralleling equipment, diagnosing and troubleshooting engine failures, and performing mechanical repairs to electrical generator systems and related equipment.

Responsibilities
