About The Position

The University of Virginia's School of Education and Human Development seeks applicants to teach and provide content expertise for programs in the Department of Educational Leadership, Foundations and Policy during the 2026-2027 academic year. The position involves teaching master's, doctoral, and undergraduate level courses in various disciplines including Administration and Supervision, Education Policy, Higher Education, Research, Statistics and Evaluation, Social Foundations, and Educational Psychology – Applied Developmental Science. Applicants will be considered for both in-person and remote instruction (synchronous and asynchronous) and should be familiar with learning management systems like Canvas. Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis as instructional needs arise.

Requirements

  • For master’s and doctoral level courses, applicants must have a terminal degree (e.g., PhD, EdD) in a discipline related to the course.
  • For undergraduate courses, applicants must have a doctorate or master’s degree in a discipline related to the course.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (i.e., Canvas) is preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous K-12, higher education teaching experience, and/or career experience in the course content area is strongly preferred.
