About The Position

Colorado Mesa University (CMU) encourages students to engage in a healthy campus lifestyle. As part of their campus-wide Health and Wellness program, all undergraduate students are required to take the Health & Wellness course and at least one activity class (most take three or more) to meet graduation requirements. CMU offers a wide range of activity classes, from Aerobics to Zumba, and is seeking local instructors who are highly experienced in these areas. The university encourages health, fitness, and wellness experts in Western Colorado to apply. The list of activity courses includes Beginning Swimming, Intermediate Swimming, Springboard Diving, Water Polo, Rock Climbing, Hiking, Beginning Golf, Intermediate Golf, Disc Golf and Ultimate Frisbee, Badminton, Karate, Beginning Tennis, Pickleball, Racquet Sports, Fitness Walking, Physical Conditioning, Intermediate Weight Training, Weight Training, Aerobics, Step Aerobics, Self-Defense, Pilates, Indoor Cycling, Adaptive Physical Activity, Introduction to Yoga, Hatha Yoga Relaxation, Flow Yoga, Zumba, Snorkeling/Free Diving, and Social Dance. Additionally, CMU is looking for instructors interested and qualified to teach the KINE 100 Health & Wellness course.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher OR accredited certification in your activity and/or 5 years of documented experienced teaching (for activity classes)
  • Master's degree is required to teach KINE 100 Health and Wellness

Responsibilities

  • Familiarity and use of the online learning platform, D2L
  • Ability to create a syllabus with engaging and educating methodologies to assess student learning
