About The Position

Rotary Wing Lecturer (NonTenure Line Faculty)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Rotary-wing rating, specifically a helicopter class
  • Private pilot license ( PPL ) or Commercial pilot license ( CPL )
  • Certified ground instructor ( CGI ) or Certified flight instructor ( CFI )
  • Instrument rating or Certified flight instructor with Instrument rating ( CFII )
  • At least two years of flight experience or 100 hours of private flight time
  • Experience teaching online, asynchronous, or synchronous courses
  • Specialization degree in Aviation Science, Aviation Engineering/Management, and/or Aeronautical Engineering with Professional Pilot License and other Flight Certifications approved by the FAA
  • Experience teaching online or hybrid/blended format at university level or documented training in teaching online
  • Higher education teaching experience in a high-demand occupational area (e.g., Private Aircraft Operations, Instrument Flight Rules for Aviation, Principals and Methods of Flight Instruction, Theory of Multi-Engine Aircraft Operations, Theory of Commercial Flight)

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in aviation and/or education discipline
  • Experience with online curriculum development in Canvas
  • Three or more years of teaching experience in K-12, two-year or four-year college or university
