About The Position

The Emergency Department (ED) Technician provides basic care for patients across the lifespan in the Emergency Department. The role includes direct patient care, assistance with procedures, clerical duties, and supply maintenance. The technician works under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse and the indirect supervision of the Clinical Manager/Supervisor. Professionalism, accuracy, and the ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment are required to support optimal patient care. This is a casual, as-needed role at Adena Pike Emergency Department.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
• Complete de-escalation training within 90 days of hire and annually thereafter.
• Complete the ESI Course within 90 days of hire.
• Complete Basic Telemetry training within 90 days.
• EMT-Basic coursework, to be completed within one year of hire, or active enrollment in an accredited nursing program.
• Professionalism, accuracy, and ability to perform in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Phlebotomy experience.
• Experience delivering patient care in an Emergency Department.
• EMT-Intermediate or Paramedic certification.
